The Red Sox are not having a good time with these Houston Astros.
After the 8-3 loss Wednesday night, the Sox have not been outscored by the Astros to a tune of 34-13. Not good.
But there was one moment coming from the defeat that the hosts could hang their hat on. That was thanks to Hunter Renfroe.
That throw came in at 98 mph, equaling the hardest throw from an outfielder this season.
"There’s more in the tank," said Renfroe after the game.
“They’re trying to score runs. It’s as simple as that. Like I was telling y’all, I guess it was a few weeks ago now, I’d say seven or eight out of 10 times they’re going to score the run no matter how good the throw is or whatever. Now guys are getting so good at sliding and avoiding tags. I think that’s kind of a big issue. Obviously the accuracy of the throw has to be absolutely perfect to nail a guy at home or at third or whatever. They’re playing the odds game more than anything.”
"Obviously, defensively he’s a force back there," said Red Sox manager Alex Cora of Renfroe. "If there’s a positive out of all this, he’s been really solid."
