PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia Police have arrested a man who they say is a DoorDash driver who allegedly shot a 17-year-old Chick-fil-A worker over a milkshake.

The employee was shot shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday at the location on Adams Avenue in Lawncrest.

Authorities said two men who were working for DoorDash took an order from Chick-fil-A, and argued with employees that they ordered two milkshakes instead of the one they were given.

Philadelphia Police Capt. John Walker with the Shooting Investigation Group said one of the men pulled out a gun and circled the restaurant, shooting the 17-year-old employee in the leg.

"We are not going to tolerate kids who are doing the right thing working at a job, working in a company who does the right thing, and individuals here — over something minor like this — who fire a gun," Walker said.

"A senseless act. We all know that Chick-fil-A has the motto 'to make positive contacts with all,' and to have these kids have to experience this, [kids] that are doing the right thing in society is just the wrong thing. Especially over a milkshake, in a dispute over an item, it’s just unacceptable behavior."

The teen was treated and released from the hospital, and police eventually found the car and arrested one suspect who did not have a license to carry and had prior arrests.

They are still looking for the second person who was inside that car.

Additionally, hours earlier, around 5 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in the head, neck and back in North Philadelphia, near West Cambria and Bonsall streets. He was listed in critical condition.

Around 7:30 p.m. in East Mount Airy, a double shooting sent two men to the hospital. A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were both shot while outside near East Johnson Street and Mansfield Avenue. They are both expected to recover.
