"My mantra is, like any athlete, 'Practice how you perform,’" Miley told the outlet about her unorthodox shoe choice for the gym. ”So that’s why I practice in my heels. The gym looks really tough, but then I’ve got my ivory Gucci sling-backs because they remind me of Marilyn Monroe. I train in heels, mostly. I’m interested in feminizing the workout space, because so much of the workout equipment is ugly.”

While working out in high heels surely contributes to Cyrus' super-toned physique, it also helps the singer channel her onstage persona. "I definitely have a persona—an expanded, fully realized version of myself that I tap into as a performer," she explained. Oh we know Ms. Miley, that GRAMMY performance had our jaws on the ground. That being said, on the other end of that spectrum, as Cyrus shared, “there’s a level of my life that’s super intimate, sacred, and secret.”

Naming her mentors in the music industry to include icons like Dolly Parton and Beyoncé, the latter of which has a notable onstage persona, Sasha Fierce. Miley shared how that is just one of the ways she’s bonded with Bey over the last few years.

"I think it’s a really cute part of our relationship, because over the past couple of years I’ve really locked down on my privacy and on what I share with the public," Cyrus said of Beyoncé, whom she recently collaborated with on her genre-bending Country album Cowboy Carter. "She’s the same way. Part of our relationship is the safety between us.”

"The songwriting or the work is just a small part of my relationship with her, or with Dolly, or with anyone,” she continued. “Our personas have a relationship, but then we have a relationship. And I love that.”

Also discussing the “Climb” it took to finally earn her first GRAMMY at last year’s award ceremony, Miley had some choice word,  and rightfully so tbh.

"No shade, but I've been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the GRAMMYs?" Miley told W. "I've had a hard time figuring out what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk stats and numbers, then where the f*** was I? And if you want to talk, like, impact on culture, then where the f*** was I?" Adding, "This is not about arrogance. I am proud of myself.”
