After making two picks in the first round on Day 1 and two in the third round on Day 2, the Eagles were supposed to have to wait quite a while to get involved on Day 3, their first of four picks not until No. 188 in the sixth round - until about 10 minutes into the proceedings, when they traded a 2024 third-round pick to move up to No. 105 overall and add to their Georgia North defense.
The Birds made a handful of trades on Days 2 and 3 to end up with three picks on Day 3, although the last two may be icing on the cake of a draft that was strong through Ringo's selection at the top of Round 4.
Get a look at all of their Day 3 picks below, and keep listening to WIP all weekend for Draft reaction – and tune in Monday to hear Jon Ritchie & Joe DeCamara, Joe Giglio & Hugh Douglas, and Jon Marks & Ike Reese wrap it all up!
ROUND 4, NO. 105 OVERALL: CB Kelee Ringo, Georgia
The Eagles pulled the first surprise of Day 3, trading into the third round to select Ringo, now the fifth member of the all-time great 2021 Georgia defense to head north to Philly, with the fourth pick of the day.
The Eagles traded a 2024 third-round pick to Houston to make the selection.
Ringo, a Redshirt Sophomore, won National Championships in both of his seasons in Athens, and was Second Team All-SEC in his final season.
He had 76 tackles, four interceptions, one sack, and 19 passes defensed in 30 career games.
ROUND 6, NO. 188 OVERALL: QB Tanner McKee, Stanford
The Birds have been heavy on defense in this draft, but add a developmental QB in McKee, whose selection set a new NFL Draft record for quarterbacks selected in the first six rounds of a draft (13).
McKee is a late bloomer, as the now 23-year-old spent two years on an LDS mission after high school before enrolling at Stanford in 2020, where he saw action in just one game during the COVID-shortened season. He ended his career as a two-year starter, throwing for 5,336 yards and 28 TD against 15 INT.
ROUND 7, NO. 249 OVERALL: DE Moro Ojomo, Texas
He's not from Georgia – in fact, he's from Nigeria originally, and Ojomo heads to the NFL after five seasons at Texas that netted him 122 tackles (18 for loss) and five sacks. Ojomo didn't play varsity football until his junior year of high school and enrolled at Texas at age 16, and ended up a three-year starter for the Longhorns. He had 40 tackles (5.5 for loss) and three sacks as a fifth-year senior, and was Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2021.
