Dallas Goedert, Eagles reportedly agree to reworked contract

The Dallas Goedert saga is reportedly over.

According to multiple reports, and first reported by Jeff McLane, the Eagles and their tight end have agreed on a reworked deal for the upcoming season, meaning Jalen Hurts will still have his TE1 as a weapon on offense as Philly tries to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Goedert’s potential departure was seen as a very real possibility as the offseason dragged on, as Eliot Shorr-Parks reported that the two sides were “very close” to parting ways. The Eagles fielded trade calls during the NFL Draft, but ultimately, Goedert was not dealt, and he now will stay on a restructured contract.

Goedert has spent his entire seven-year career in Philadelphia, and is coming off a season in which he logged 496 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The 29-year-old had a memorable touchdown against the Packers in the wild card round, stiff-arming his way to a tough score to open up a 14-point lead late in the third quarter.

For his career, Goedert has 24 touchdown catches and 4,085 receiving yards. He was a second-round pick in the 2018 draft.
