Brandon Graham raves about Ndamukong Suh, Linval Joseph after Eagles debuts

The Philadelphia Eagles’ two new additions fit in nicely Sunday, making a solid first impression on their teammates.

With the defensive line decimated by injuries and the rush defense already a problem, the Eagles signed Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh last week. Both played in Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts, and they logged a pretty substantial workload considering how long it has been since they last played.

Suh played 17 snaps, finishing with one quarterback hit and three total tackles. Joseph played 26 snaps and had four total tackles with one quarterback hit.

Both Suh and Joseph were free agents who had yet to play in a game this season. Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham said in his weekly appearance on “Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team” that he was impressed with their debuts.

“Man, (they made a) big difference. Big difference," Graham said. Especially when you’ve got Fletcher (Cox) and (Javon) Hargrave get out, you’ve got – Milton, who I felt like Milton Williams stepped up in a big way, and that’s just because I feel like it’s a competition that’s there.

“You’ve got Suh and you’ve got Linval. Linval came in with a great attitude, Suh came in with a great attitude, just wanted to fill in where they were needed. That’s what you want from vets who have started everywhere they went, but now they’re coming in being a role player and they’re enjoying their role, man. They came in right away excited to be part of something special.

“That’s why they’re here, that’s what the message was that I got from Howie (Roseman). I’m loving it, because they look like they’ve been playing with us for a minute. They don’t seem out of game shape or nothing, they just look like they picked up right where they left off.”

Roseman has been aggressive this league year with trades and signings, and the early returns on his latest moves are promising.
