The NBA landscape is shaping up for a big summer. Multiple teams were reportedly interested in Wizards star Bradley Beal, who Washington traded to the Suns earlier this week.

The Sixers were one of those teams speculated to be a fit for Beal with Tobias Harris as one of the pieces going back the other way. While Beal is off the table, things could be trending toward a Harris trade in Philadelphia.

While the Sixers don’t have a pick in this year’s NBA Draft on Thursday night, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be any movement.

Kyle Neubeck of the Audacy Original Podcast “Clap Your Hands” took a look at the landscape surrounding the Sixers and could see a big trade coming as soon as draft night.

“I think there’ll be a big trade but I’m not going to tie anyone into it. I just feel like Tobias is going to get traded. This is not reporting, this is me just looking at the landscape, hearing what I’ve heard from around the league where there’s this expectation he gets moved,” Neubeck said (46:00 in player above). “That being said, there has not been a team connected to him. There has not been an ‘Oh, I hear they’re trying to get x, y, z for Tobias.’ This is just kind of looking at the landscape, knowing they need to shake things up a little bit.”

The Sixers’ process has stalled in the second round in each of the last two seasons. That cost head coach Doc Rivers his job this time around, James Harden is set to hit free agency, and there could be a new dynamic duo or even terrific trio in Philadelphia.

Harris came over from the Clippers in 2019. Since then, however, his points per game have dropped every year in Philadelphia. He averaged just 14.7 PPG last season.

“That would be my wild guess but it is just a guess right now until maybe I put in some phone calls and we see what that turns up,” Neubeck concluded.

The 2023 NBA Draft is just days away and it could be a big night for the Sixers.
