Philadelphia's passion for the Eagles makes certain there won’t be any hiding from what happened Sunday.

The Eagles got a wakeup call Sunday, getting pummeled 42-19 at home against the 49ers. It was only Philly’s second loss of the season, but an alarming one as the path to the Super Bowl likely will have to run through San Francisco.

There have been apparent holes on the Eagles this season, though winning 10 of 11 games has helped mask them. Players have been adamant that they were aware of the issues even before getting exposed by the Niners, but nevertheless such a result is sure to ramp up concern.

Eagles captain Jason Kelce said Wednesday in his weekly appearance on the 94WIP Morning Show that simply playing in Philadelphia ensures players won’t be able to tune out issues.

“I think things are always looked at differently after a loss,” Kelce said. “We’ve been making corrections, we’ve known we’ve had to fix things throughout the 10-1 start. It’s not like we’re in here like it’s all good, that’s not the case. We're always trying to make corrections. But I do think after losses, in particular the way we lost, I think the lens is looked at entirely differently from everybody’s perspective. Not only did you lose, you got it handed to you. So, I think everybody in that building is firmly aware of what we need to do to get better and constantly talking and trying to figure out how we can get things better.

“It’s just a different vibe in the building, there’s a little bit more anxiety. I talked about this after the Jets game, whenever there is a loss, there's just a different feel in the building – especially in Philadelphia, because you’re gonna hear it. It’s not like you’re gonna lose and just be able to tune it out. No, not in this city. So it forces you to have conversations, to talk to your teammates and talk to your coaches, to really iron out what’s happening.”

The Eagles have a great opportunity in front of them to turn the page. They’ll face NFC East rival and fellow contender Dallas on Sunday.
