The Philadelphia Eagles need linebackers and Clemson LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., son of legendary Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, will be available in this year's NFL Draft.
"Oh, 'This guy from Texas A&M is better.' I'm like dude, I don't care about any of that," Ike Reese said on Wednesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show. "If "Axe Man Jr." is available in the second round, we take him. That's all that matters. I don't care, I don't care about Texas A&M linebackers. I don't care about him grading out better. This kid is from here, what are you talking about? He was born and raised right here!
"This is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. This might be the easiest layup the Eagles have had in I don't know when...Don't pass him up and let him become a star somewhere else. That is much worse than him not panning out here."
Reese, of course, was a teammate of Trotter's with the Eagles from 1998-2001 and then again in 2004 and knows Trotter Jr. personally, admitting he hopes the St. Joe's Prep standout is drafting as early as possible, but does want him to become an Eagle.
Trotter Jr., who grew up in Hainesports Township, NJ, admitted it would be a "blessing" to play for his hometown team.
Trotter Jr. played three seasons for Clemson recording 113 tackles, 29.5 TFL, 13.0 sacks, 4 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 touchdowns.
The Eagles have nine total 2024 draft picks, including two in the second round (pick Nos. 50 and 53 overall).
