The Fourth of July is the perfect time for some barbecue, fireworks and baseball. Unless you are fans of the Yankees, Phillies, Pirates or Angels, then you'll have to skip the latter.
Those four teams were not scheduled to play on the summer holiday this year, which falls on a Monday, often a travel day around the league.
Yet, many fans were still upset that their teams were not playing on the Fourth of July, particularly fans of the Yankees and Phillies — two of baseball's biggest markets, one of which serves as a nickname for US citizens and another that plays in the nation's birthplace of independence.
Meanwhile, the Angels feature two of the sports' biggest stars and the Pirates, although a small market team that is struggling this year, they are still a franchise storied with rich history.
The Fourth of July is also the perfect time for baseball to take center stage, with the other three major sports in the country in their respective offseasons.
Fans of these teams voiced their displeasure on social media:
It's extremely weird that the Yankees aren't playing today on 4th of July.

So insanely dumb the Phillies don't have a July 4th game this year. Just really dumb on MLB's part to not have everyone play.

The teams off on the 4th of July:

58-22 Yankees with MVP Aaron Judge
The Angels with 2 generational talents
The Phillies who would have Bryce Harper if he didn't break his thumb.
The Pirates (lol)
Baseball is so bad at marketing their stars
