Philadelphia Eagles legend and Super Bowl winning quarterback Nick Foles announced his retirement on social media on Thursday.
"Specifically, thank you to the Philadelphia Eagles fans," Foles said in the video. "You truly made playing in Philadelphia the most special experience in my football career."
Foles, 35, was the Eagles' 88th overall pick in 2012 and played for Philadelphia from 2012-2014. In 2017, Foles returned to Philly and took over after a late season injury to Carson Wentz in 2017, ultimately leading the Eagles to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.
The Philly Special, where Foles caught a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl, will go down as one of the greatest plays in Philadelphia sports history.
