Phillies extend Dave Dombrowski through 2027

The Phillies have rewarded Dave Dombrowski after the team reached its first World Series since 2009.

The team announced Friday morning that the president of baseball operations has been extended until 2027, adding an extra three years to his deal.

Dombrowski had already been signed through 2024.

Dombrowski, 66, became the first executive to ever lead four different teams to the Fall Classic after the Phillies’ improbable 2022 run (also led the Marlins, Tigers, and Red Sox to the World Series), helped along by key Dombrowski additions like Kyle Schwarber.

Now, Dombrowski will be with the Phils for at least the next five seasons to try and get the franchise over that last hump and back atop the baseball world.
