PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Sixers are saying so long to the Beard. They are sending James Harden to the West Coast in a blockbuster trade, according to new reports.

This is the fourth time Harden has been traded in his career. He is headed to the LA Clippers, a team he has said he wanted to join.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, early Tuesday morning. The Sixers have yet to officially confirm the trade.

Also going to the Clippers are PJ Tucker and Filip Petrusev. In return, the Sixers are reportedly getting four future draft picks, including two first-rounders, one of them from a third team. Those details have also not been confirmed by the 76ers.

The Clippers are also reportedly giving the Sixers Marcus Morris, who is from Philadelphia; veteran Nic Batum; now two-time Sixer Robert Covington; and KJ Martin.

To make room for these players on the roster, they are reportedly waving Danny Green.

This marks an end to the Harden drama. He wanted to be traded after not liking how the Sixers front office, led by Daryl Morey, handled his contract situation in the off-season.

“When I got traded here, my whole thing was I wanted to retire a Sixer,” Harden said on Oct. 13. “I wanted to be here and retire a Sixer, and the front office didn’t have that in their future plans.”

Morey has said all along that they wanted Harden to remain here, but in the end, Harden believes that the relationship is fractured.
