This is great news for expectant mothers!
The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology released a new study on pregnant women and coronavirus and the results indicated so far are pretty positive!
The study indicated that most pregnant women who are diagnosed with cronavirus DO NOT experience more severe symptoms than other patients. This is very different from research on pregnant women with SARS or the flu in the past, which indicated that pregnancy was linked to more severe symptoms of those illnesses.
Data for the study collected from 43 pregnant women who were diagnosed with coronavirus in New York between March 13th and 27th.
Additionally, the study indicated that coronavirus is not passed from mother to unborn child. So if mom is sick, the baby will not be born sick.
