The American Red Cross says they are currently facing an "emergency blood shortage" of Type O blood, the type most commonly needed by hospitals.
Now through August 29th the American Red Cross is offering $5 Amazon gift cards to those who donate blood or platlets.
Donors can schedule an appointment to give by activating Amazon’s Alexa Red Cross Blood Skill by saying, “Alexa, find a blood drive,” or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
