How do you express more emotion when you're texting a friend? You use emojis... right? Now, apparently you have to worry about which ones are cool or not. And the Laughing/Crying emoji 😂 is OUT. And that includes the "Rolling on the floor laughing" 🤣 emoji.
One 21 year old told CNN Business, "I stopped using it a while back because I saw older people using it, like my mom, my older siblings and just older people in general." So that's what it boils down to? If mom and older siblings are using it, its OUT?

Gen Z'ers (born after 1996) are using the Skull 💀 because it's portrayed as the visual version of "I'm Dead" or "I'm Dying" which is their language for something that is very funny. It also seems like they are using the "Crying Loudly" 😭 face as a face for something that is funny or they just use the plain ole "LOL" or "LMAO"
