Alligator season may be over, but that doesn’t mean people should let their guard down just yet. While most of the country doesn’t have to worry about coming across an alligator, those that live near swamps are constantly on the lookout for the terrifying reptile. One man in Florida learned that the hard way after learning that an alligator was hiding underneath his car.
Photos of an alligator hiding under the man’s vehicle were recently shared by the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
According to the now-viral post, officers in the area saw the alligator walking towards the parking lot. Upon further inspection, they eventually spotted it hiding under a man’s car. Luckily for the owner of the car, the police got there first. The man saw the commotion as he walked out to his vehicle to grab something completely unaware of what was hiding underneath.
“The gator hid under a resident’s vehicle just before he came outside to retrieve something from his car. The State Alligator Trapper responded and was able to collect the gator and relocate it to a more suitable environment,” said the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
According to Fox News, the alligator was found around 3 A.M. Maybe next time the alligator will choose a safer place for a game of hide and seek.
