The group was awarded their seventh Vocal Group of the Year win, which makes them the most awarded Vocal Group in CMA history. After being presented their award by The Oak Ridge Boys, frontman Matthew Ramsey gave a speech thanking their team and all the bands that came before them, all while encouraging people to chase their dreams despite “weird” times.
“If you are an artist of any type or a creator or a musician, this is when the world needs you the most, when it’s weird like it is right now,” he said. “So get out there and get together and create.”
Other highlights from Wednesday's show include include Megan Moroney topping off a big year for herself with a New Artist of the Year win while Brooks & Dunn secured their 15th Vocal Duo of the Year win. Co-host Lainey Wilson collected her third Female Vocalist of the Year trophy and Morgan Wallen was awarded the night’s biggest honor as he was crowned Entertainer of the Year.
