It’s hard to think of any experience involving Willie Nelson that could be described as “tense,” but Tim McGraw managed to have one.
LISTEN NOW: Tim McGraw talks with Melissa & Austin
McGraw joined Audacy’s Melissa & Austin and detailed a rather tense moment he had with Willie Nelson.
McGraw was asked whether or not he’d seen Nelson in concert when he was growing up. Remarkably, McGraw hadn’t seen Nelson in “concert ‘concert,’” but did “hang out with him a few times.”
“We were at the CMAs one year and my security guy EJ & I got on the elevator. Willie got on the elevator with us and he’s like ‘hey Tim how you doing? Doing good?’” McGraw explained.
“So [on] the next floor we stopped and two police officers walked in with a dog,” he continued.
As you might imagine, Willie may be traveling with certain… well, you get the gist.
“We’re on the elevator, everybody’s quiet, we go up one more floor and the police officers and the dog got off. The doors closed and Willie looked over at me and said… ‘bomb dog!’” He said with a roaring laugh.
