Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross to Score Pixar Film 'Soul'

Something different from the Nine Inch Nails frontman

When he isn't fronting his industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor has garnered a strong reputation as a film scorer. Composing music for such films as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and The Social Network, Reznor and his collaborator Atticus Ross are now trying something different - they will be scoring the upcoming Pixar film, Soul.

According to a report by Variety, the details behind Soul were revealed at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. The film will star Jamie Foxx, who will voice lead character Joe Gardener, a middle school music teacher who dreams of performing at a legendary jazz club in New York. Along the way, Joe will go on a cosmic adventure across otherworldly realms to find the purpose behind life's biggest questions.

Tina Fey, Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, and Questlove of The Roots will join Foxx in the film's voice cast.

Soul is set to hit theaters on June 19, 2020.
