A man from Spencer, Iowa was taken to the hospital after engaging the police in a pursuit in which he was run over.
32-year-old Jordan Walbaum was suspected of stealing a pickup truck, and when police located him inside the vehicle, the chase began.
According to KTIV, the midst of the chase, Walbaum began throwing various items out of the vehicle. Police later found that the items were methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Eventually, police were able to chase Walbaum into an alleyway where police were able to lock the truck's doors via OnStar Control, the system which allowed them to track the vehicle in the first place.
Walbaum reportedly panicked and jumped out of the open window to make his grand escape. Police say his legs were run over in the process before the vehicle rolled into two other cars and a garage.
He still managed to flee on foot, but was captured at a nearby home.
Walbaum was transferred to an area hospital for treatment, but no other injuries as a result of the escapade were reported. A warrant was apparently already out for Walbaum after a confrontation with police this past Saturday.
