At 43-years-old, Irish Grinstead, one-third of the R&B girl group, 702, has passed away.

Cory Taylor, 702's representative confirmed that the singer died on Saturday and Grinstead's bandmate and sister LeMisha released a tribute on Instagram.
"It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that my beautiful sister and friend has passed away this evening. She has had a long battle and she is finally at peace. That girl was as bright as the stars!" LeMisha wrote.
She continued, "she was not only beautiful on the outside, but also within. Sharing the stage with her was a joy I will cherish for the rest of my life! We, the family ask for prayers and respect for our privacy as we grieve an outstanding loss to our family."
While the cause of death has not been disclosed, Irish had been dealing with some severe health issues for months before her death. Back in December 2022, it was announced that she'd be taking "a medical leave of absence due to serious medical issues."
702 comprised Irish Grinstead, Kameelah Williams, and LeMisha Grinstead. They debuted in 1996 with the release of No Doubt. It became a gold-certified record and featured their hit single "Steelo" with Missy Elliott. The group went gold again with their single, "Where My Girls At?" in 1999 from their self-titled album, co-produced by Elliott.
