AccessVA puts veterans' billing records at their fingertips

AccessVA
Department of Veterans Affairs

Veterans who receive health care for non-service connected conditions at Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities have a new way to access their billing statements online.

AccessVA allows veterans to view, download and print their billing statements by VA medical facility location, according to a VA blog. Veterans simply need to go to AccessVA and click on Veteran Patient Statement. From there, sign in with a DS Logon, ID.me or MyHealthVet (MVH) Premium.

If a vet has any multiple statements available for viewing, there is a drop-down option on the display for selecting the desired statement.

According to the blog, the advancement will help veterans to more efficiently manage their health care. Although patient billing statements are available online for six months, VA will continue to mail paper statements.

Veterans are not billed for service-connected care.

For questions regarding the information displayed on patient statements, call the Health Resource Center at 866-400-1238 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Eastern time.
