Army Criminal Investigation Command is aware of claims that missing Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen was being sexually harassed before she disappeared.

At this time, they have "no credible information or report that Vanessa Guillen was sexually assaulted."

Pfc. Vanessa Guillen was last seen in the middle of a workday at Fort Hood on April 22. Her car keys, barracks keys, I.D. card and wallet were all found in her workspace. The 20-year-old remains missing. Her family reported that she shared complaints of sexual harassment with them before she disappeared.

According to Guillen's mother, she told her the person would follow her on runs. Guillen was reluctant to report the individual saying that other women had filed reports to no avail.

“We are completely committed to finding Vanessa and aggressively going after every single piece of credible information and every lead in this investigation,” said Chris Grey, spokesman for Army CID in a press release on Tuesday. “We will not stop until we find Vanessa."

Army CID has interviewed more than 150 people as part of the investigation, according to the release. They also increased the reward for information from $15,000 to $25,000. Other new information in the most recently updated press release includes that Guillen was an avid runner.

Last week, Guillen's family said they wanted the investigation transferred from Army CID's jurisdiction to that of the federal government.

“I don’t want the case to belong to CID anymore because they can’t give us information," Mayra Guillen said last Wednesday. “It happened inside a federal building, a military base, and we still don’t get answers as to who, what, where exactly, and why.”

At this time, Army CID says they do not believe Guillen's disappearance is connected to the disappearance of Fort Hood Private 2nd Class Gregory Wedel-Morales who has been missing since August 2019.

Guillen's image is being displayed on billboards in the Fort Hood area. An Instagram account titled "Find Vanessa Guillen" so far has amassed 32,400 followers.

The 20-year-old was last seen in the parking lot of her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters, 3rd Cavalry Regiment on Fort Hood wearing a black T-shirt and purple fitness pants.

Anyone with information that could lead to Vanessa's location are encouraged to contact Army CID Special Agents at 254-287-2722 or the Military Police Desk at 254-288-1170.
