No veteran should be buried alone and on Monday in Killeen, Tx, hundreds of people made sure of that.
With no next-of-kin, there were fears nobody would be present when Air Force veteran Joseph Walker was laid to rest Monday. But after calls to the public, hundreds of people crowded into Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery to pay their respects.
Walker served in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968, according to a report by KVUE.
Born February 28,1946, Walked died of natural causes. He was 72.
Originally, the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery invited the public to attend the funeral for an unaccompanied Air Force veteran, Joseph Walker.
After the call was put out, organizations including the Wind Therapy Freedom Riders and the American Legion have committed to attend.
