Helping frontline and essential workers responding to the COVID-19 pandemic is as easy as downloading a song.
The Crown Royal Purple Bag Project, award-winning country music artist Kane Brown and a group of military veteran singer-songwriters have teamed up to remix Brown’s number one single, “Homesick.”
A cop, a singer, a warrior and the purple whisky bag
For every stream of “Homesick (Veterans Version)” that is downloaded, The Crown Royal Purple Bag Project will pack one bag to be donated as a care package to the non-profit Packages From Home.
“My hope is that this remix shines a light of hope and generosity to uplift our heroes during this time,” said Brown in a release.
Written by Brown, “Homesick” was dedicated to members of the military. The veterans version of the track features the vocals of retired Navy Petty Officer First Class Generald Wilson, retired Marine Gunnery Sgt. J.W. Cortes and retired Marine Lance Cpl. Sal Gonzalez.
The campaign is part of Crown Royal's goal of donating one million care packages by the end of the year. It will also donate $1 per bag to the nonprofit Minority Veterans of America, up to $100,000.

“I want this remix to serve as an anthem for all American heroes as we continue to work together for a better tomorrow,” said Cortes.
The song is available to stream here.
