Country star Thomas Rhett looked across a table at four military moms and asked, “What would be the proudest moment you have as a mother?”
Without hesitation, one mom replied, “Welcoming them home.”
This was the scene at a recent brunch where singer/songwriter Thomas Rhett and Crown Royal teamed up to surprise these military moms by bringing out their active-duty sons and daughters. Representing multiple bases, branches, and ranks of the United States Military, the reunions brought tears of joy to the moms and smiles all around.

“It was really special to honor these women for Mother’s Day and it was a privilege to spend time with the moms who helped raise such brave men and women", said Rhett. “I am so grateful to them and their families for their sacrifice.”

Nicola Heckles, Director, Crown Royal North America said, “Raising a son or daughter who serves in the military is one of the more generous things a person can do, and our goal is to inspire others across the country to give these mothers the thanks they deserve - this Mother’s Day and every day.”
The military sons and daughters were also able to present their mothers with a Crown Royal Mothers of Military (M.O.M.) Medal. These M.O.M. Medals are in the shape of a pentagon to represent the five branches of the United States Military and feature the Greek goddess of motherhood Ancient Leto.

Following the reunion, Rhett, moms and service members put together care packages in Crown Royal purple bags for deployed servicemen and women. The purple camo-themed bags were filled in partnership with Packages From Home, a non-profit organization.

While the bags were filled with love, service members will have to wait until they’re home to get the whiskey.
