
Hundreds of military vets dealing with a range of service-related disabilities headed into the Rocky Mountains in early April – for a week of adventure and testing limits.
At the resort village of Snowmass, not far from Aspen, they took part in the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic – an event the Department of Veterans Affairs and the group Disabled American Veterans have co-sponsored for more than three decades.
Eye on Veterans talked with a handful of adaptive athletes -- some missing limbs, others blind -- taking part in downhill and Nordic skiing, rockwall climbing and other challenges:
