It’s the day after Halloween and if you’ve got too many sweet treats on your hands, there is a national program that will send your excess candy to both servicemembers overseas and Veterans Affairs centers.

The Soldiers' Angels Treats for Troops Halloween Candy Drive, is working with businesses throughout the country who have registered as collection sites, agreeing to swap out candy in exchange for other goodies.

"Service members love the candy when they're deployed, they don't often get access to the candy, and it's not available usually in the stores they have access to overseas," Soldiers Angels CEO Amy Palmer told KRIS 6. "So when they're going out in the field, just to take a pocketful of it, is really appreciated."

In addition to the kids getting some pretty cool prizes, parents get a tax-deductible receipt for the candy donation.

To find you where you can make a donation, search by either zip code or mile radius here.
