A San Antonio man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening to become the next "active shooter" at Fort Hood in Texas.

Mario Eloy Peña, 48, was arrested by San Antonio police after his wife alerted them of her husband's post on Facebook. The posts allegedly threatened that Peña intended to go to Fort Hood to "be an active shooter" in retaliation for the death of Spc. Vanessa Guillen, according to an affidavit, KSAT 12 reported

The affidavit also reported that Peña has a violent criminal history, involving assault charges, harassment and discharging a firearm with bodily injury.

Peña has been charged with making "terroristic threats," according to MySanAntonio.com..Army Times reported that Peña was released later in the weekend on a $5,000 bond.

Fort Hood has been under significant scrutiny since Sp\c. Vanessa Guillen went missing in April of this year and was eventually found dead, allegedly murdered by a fellow soldier. A grassroots effort calling for justice for Guillen has demanded that the installation come to an operational halt until a full Congressional investigation into the fort's leadership can be completed.
