Marine in Virginia tests positive for coronavirus

A U.S. Marine assigned to Fort Belvoir, VA,  tested positive Saturday for COVID-19. The Marine is currently being treated at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

The Marine recently returned from overseas where he was on official business.Fort Belvoir is roughly 20 miles south of Washington, D.C. 


The first veteran tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie confirmed to Congress Wednesday the veteran is in California and is being treated at the Palo, Alto, Calif. VA hospital.  

Saturday it was announced two individuals who had tested positive for coronavirus in Florida had died. The announcement raises the U.S. death toll from the novel coronavirus strain to 16, including 13 in the state of Washington and one in California.
