First Lt. Matthew Kraft was meant to return from his week and a half hiking and skiing trip in the Sierra Nevada mountain range on March 4.
He did not.
Mono County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team soon after started a search for Kraft. The search now also includes assistance from the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center and aviation support from Fresno County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol Inland Air Division Operations, and the Air National Guard.
