What happens when you die? Is there life after death? Do aliens exist?
People have wanted answers to those questions since the dawn of civilization.
Nick Karnaze, a former Intelligence Officer with Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) is searching for answers about aliens on Discovery Channel's new show 'Contact.'
"The cases we're looking at are the five percent that as of now can't be explained by science or any other sort of rational explanation," said Karnaze. "We're following the data to research some unbelievable events ... and what we're discovering will blow your mind."
The Pentagon recently declassified millions of documents and the show's investigators are combing through them. It's all part of a secret government program known as AATIP --The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program -- which studied reports of unidentified flying objects. Karnaze along with six other experts deploy CIA-developed link analysis software, special ops intelligence training, and on-the-ground journalism in an unprecedented global investigation hoping to determine if aliens have made contact with Earth.

In our conversation with Karnaze, he shares details of a Navy fighter jet encounter with a UFO off the coast of San Diego. The object moved so fast that, according to experts they interviewed, if a human being were in it they would "be turned to paste." Karnaze also tells us about a sound that was heard across the state of Florida in another unexplained phenomenon. The show's team presented the 'noise' to an audiologist who determined "it was a noise even the experts could not define." Hear these actual sounds and more stories from behind the scenes on the latest episode of VetStory.

The 'Contact' investigation team is a who's-who of government and military specialists, including former CIA Targeting Officer Myke Cole, Conflict Analyst Dr. Michael Livingston, renowned astrophysicist and international space journalist Sarah Cruddas, former USMC Special Ops Intel Officer Nick Karnaze, award-winning investigative journalist Paul Beban, and former Green Beret Intelligence Sergeant Kawa Mawlayee.
'Contact' airs on Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel, on Thursdays at 9 pm ET/PT on Science Channel.
