The Association of the United States Army has for several years been producing a very well-received digital comic book series about Medal of Honor recipients. The comics can be downloaded free of charge from the AUSA's website -- but for many comic book fans, there is nothing like holding one in your hands. Many wanted to see a print edition, and four comics were collected in 2018 for Medal of Honor Volume I which was distributed at the AUSA conference.

Due to popular demand, AUSA is now publishing volume two which can be requested on their website. Volume two collects the stories of Mary Walker -- the only female MOH recipient, Tibor Rubin who selflessly protected his unit from a human wave attack in Korea, Henry Johnson who was awarded the Medal of Honor in WWI with the all-black Harlem Hellfighters, and Daniel Inouye who received the medal for actions in WWII before becoming a U.S. Senator.

AUSA selected top talent for the project, enlisting comic book professionals such as writer Chuck Dixon, colorist Peter Pantazis, and lettering by Troy Peteri. Artists used on the project include Karl Moline, PJ Holden, Christopher Ivy, and Le Beau Underwood. John Higgins provides cover art for volume two. Together, they've worked at the biggest titles in the comic industry from Spiderman to Batman.

Volume I was known to disappear quickly at a past AUSA conference, so hurry up and request a copy soon. I just ordered one for my daughter to add to her stack of Batgirl comics.
