
Armed Forces Day is May 18, and Mission BBQ is turning the daylong celebration into a week-long tribute honoring veterans and service members.
Bring your favorite veteran or active duty service members to any Mission BBQ location from May 13 to May 17 on their branches designated day to receive a free sandwich.
Past and present members will be honored as follows:
Army: May 13
Marines: May 14
Sailors: May 15
Air Force: May 16
Coast Guard: May 17
On May 18, the restaurant hosts a Lunch with our Heroes event which honors those who have served or are serving. Be sure to be at your favorite location by noon in order to hear a live rendition of the National Anthem.
Mission BBQ: Serving and hiring heroes
Mission BBQ opened its doors 10 years after 9/11. Today, the chain is serving up ribs, brisket, turkey and sauce in 16 states east of the Mississippi and has a strong veteran hiring program.
Founder Bill Kraus is the grandson of a World War I vet and his father served in Korea. One of Kraus’ sons currently serves in the Marines while the other is the Army.
