Naval Air Station Oceana went into lockdown early Friday morning in response to a "security incident" that left one dead and one injured.

The lockdown was lifted 30 minutes later.

NBC News reports that the incident involved one shooter and one victim in a base parking lot. The incident stemmed from a domestic disturbance. According to 13News Now, NAS Oceana security shot the shooter and the victim, a female sailor, has been trasnported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Facebook, users expressed frustration that information about the incident was only being communicated through Facebook and Twitter rather than through the installation's emergency alert systems.
