Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas reported an active shooter this morning. The shooter was neutralized. The installation initially reported one injury but has since provided an update that a Navy police officer was protected from a bullet by his protective vest and is"fine."
NCIS is now en route. All gates remain closed.
The installation communicated through its Facebook page shortly before 8 a.m. this morning that all gates were closed and an active shooter is in the vicinity of the station's north gate.
"If you are in or near the North Gate get out and away to safety. Execute lockdown procedures -- remain indoors and away from windows," the advisory reads.
