US service member killed in Afghanistan

One U.S. Service Member was in killed in Afghanistan today as a result of enemy small arms fire according to Resolute Support.

According to the U.S. Military, the incident is under investigation. 

This marks the second death in Afghanistan of 2019. Last week, 26-year-old Sgt. Cameron A. Meddock died in Landstuhl, Germany as a result of wounds sustained during combat operations in Badghis Province, Afghanistan.

The identity of the American killed has yet to be released, pending next-of-kin notification.
