Texas is the first state in the nation to connect veterans to a variety of services and programs that help with the transition from the military into the civilian workforce.
Veterans groups, non-profit organizations and higher education institutions have teamed up to form the Texas Veterans Network.
“We look forward to this new formalized and collaborative effort to enhance veteran support and serve as a model for the rest of the country,” said Director of Texas A&M University System Office of Veteran Services, retired Marine Col. Gerald Smith in a release.
