Tom Hanks dropped and gave ‘em 20 on the Oscars' red carpet Sunday night in Hollywood.
Hanks, 63, knocked out the pushups while wearing a tuxedo beside a U.S. Army sergeant as a group of soldiers cheered them on.
Hanks portrayed Capt. John H. Miller in Steven Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan.” The film was awarded five Oscars in 1999.
Since then, Hanks has enjoyed a close relationship with the military. He was inducted as an honorary member of the U.S. Army Rangers Hall of Fame in 2006 and is active with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, which supports military caregivers.
Hanks was nominated for best-supporting actor for his role as Fred Rogers in “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” but lost out to Brad Pitt in “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.”
