Two U.S. service members were killed on March 8 in north central Iraq while advising and accompanying Iraqi Security Forces. The service members were supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
The service members along with ISF were conducting a mission to eliminate an ISIS terrorist stronghold in a mountainous area of north central Iraq.
The names of the service members are withheld pending next of kin notification, in accordance with U.S. Department of Defense policy.
