Okay, so we might overuse the term "badass" on the site but this time, we're serious.

Members of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Munro boarded — and by "boarded" we mean "jumped" — onto what they called a "self-propelled semi-submersible suspected drug smuggling vessel (SPSS)" last month during an operation in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

According to the USCG, these vessels often hold large amounts of contraband in an effort to travel undetected by law enforcement. Through 14 separate suspected drug smuggling interdictions between May and July of 2019 off the coasts of Mexico, Central and South America, Coast Guard crews seized more than 39,000 pounds of cocaine and 933 pounds of marijuana, totaling a near $569 million.
