It's Halloween season! That joyous time of year when we can dress up and pretend to be the hero we've always wanted to be.
But before picking a military themed costume, here are some suggestions on how to avoid looking like a total tool:
Chris Brown, musician/celebrity or not, completely failed back in 2012 with this terrorist costume. Depending on where you're trick or treating, this may actually be fatal. [Note: The only acceptable terrorist costume is a dead terrorist costume.>
When going for the dead terrorist look, consider Jeff Dunham’s classic “Achmed the Dead terrorist”. Just be prepared to randomly shout “I kill you!” and “Infidel!”
It helps if you can keep a surprised look on your face all night.

Kids are always cute in military costumes.
We loved this little girl’s Navy SEAL costume. A closer look at the comments and we saw that it was actually liked by the legendary real-life SEAL Rob O’Neil.
Though this costume is not military related, it truly deserves an honorable mention on any Halloween costume list.
If you’re determined to go Navy this year, we strongly suggest you avoid the gray flight suit. Mainly because none of us have ever seen a gray flight suit! [Though maybe it's being considered by the Space Force>

If you really have “the need for speed,” we recommend going for the bomber jacket look … plus, it's a great way to hide that veteran flotation device aka beer gut.
If you’re in the St. Louis area, this looks too good to be true.
Add “Sexy” or “Naughty” to anything from soldier to social worker and voila -- you instantly have the standard issue costume for buxom bad girls at bars around the country.
Know the the pros and cons of these costumes:
Pro: Free Drinks
Con: Creepy guy in that Top Gun costume keeps trying to perform a high speed pass around your tower.
But here’s one we haven’t seen yet … add some ACU pants and you're golden!
Ultimately, whether you’re looking for authentic, original, spooky or sexy, Halloween is the ideal holiday to return to your military roots.
Just remember that while Halloween may only come once a year, the pictures last forever.
