When Vietnam veteran Don Tyler died of COVID-19 in March while visiting Spain, his family opted to have his remains cremated and returned to their home in Billings, Montana.
In a double blow to the family, Tyler's wife Christine told KTVQ that her husband’s remains became lost in a United States Post Office facility in Chicago.
Now, Tyler’s remains have been found and have been returned to his family. In a Facebook message on May 30, Christine wrote that Don’s remains were located in the corner of a USPS service center in Chicago.
“It's rather some payback I think, he used to make his sister's squat in the corner when they were naughty,” she said.

Montana Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester’s offices were notified about the lost remains.

"I'm glad to have played a part in locating Mr. Tyler's remains. My prayers go out to Christine and the rest of her family as they mourn the loss of Mr. Tyler," Daines said.
