This 4th of July, the Washington Nationals honored military members.
World War II veteran Ellsworth Hutchinson Jr delivered the game ball. "Hutch", a native of Washington D.C. joined the Army in 1946 and served in Anchorage, Alaska. An avid baseball fan he is 92-years old.
The United States Navy Ceremonial Guard also presented the colors before the game and the National anthem was performed by Technical Sergeant Adrienne King of the Official Chorus of the U.S. Air Force.

Independence Day isn't the only day of the year the Washington Nationals recognize members of the military. Thursday's events were part of the Washington Nationals Patriotic Series presented by SAIC — a program that features on-field programming, pregame ceremonies, and patriotic uniforms to honor service members and their families.
