    David Rancken

David Rancken is an anchor on 1080 KRLD-AM during the afternoon drive from 3 - 8pm. "I moved to Dallas to work on the morning at 103.7 KVIL, and then moved down the hall to 98.7 KLUV."

He has been in broadcasting for more than 35 years, starting his career as the nightly news anchorman for a small TV station in Houston. Recalling those early days, David said, “We had five people in the newsroom and had a lot of area to cover. I anchored, wrote and shot a lot of the news stories myself.”

He went on to work drive times at radio stations KLTR-FM and KODA-FM in Houston. David doubled up as a reporter/senior producer for KNWS-TV and worked overnights. “I learned how to get by on five hours of sleep a day with that schedule.”

David has also won (along with KRLD), multiple Edward R. Murrow awards and other numerous broadcast awards from the Associated Press, the Texas Association of Broadcasters, as well as the Dallas and Houston Press Clubs. His public affairs shows have been recognized for their excellence by the American Cancer Society, Women in Communications, the Mental Health Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In addition to David’s duties at Audacy, he also travels the country to serve as emcee for several professional tennis tournaments on the men’s and women’s tours; including the Chris Evert Pro-Celebrity, the Advanta Championships and the U.S. Master’s Cup Tennis Championships. He also has emceed Elton John’s annual All-Star Smash Hits charity tennis event.
