Air Force daughter Becky Carey knew her father, Tim Carey, might not be around for a father-daughter dance on her wedding day — so she sacrificed her engagement shoot to do just that.
Tim Carey, Air Force veteran, was losing his battle to prostate cancer.
"My dad has been fighting prostate cancer and his body is now at the point where it can't handle more treatment. We found out yesterday that he starts hospice this week," Carey wrote in an email to her photographer. "Matt and I will worry about our photos later, because this is more pressing with time. We haven't had professional family photos taken since my brother and I were little, and this would mean so much to us."
Photographer Bonnie Turner obliged. Becky and Tim had their father-daughter dance in the backyard of Becky's childhood home — and the results are beautiful.
Tim Carey passed away on March 28. Turner created a GoFundMe to assist the Carey family with medical and funeral costs.
