Every fallen service member deserves to be honored and recognized on Memorial Day, so Ramiro Penaherrera makes sure there's a flower for each of them.

Penaherrera, a florist with five family members buried at Arlington National Cemetery, founded the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation in 2011, bringing hundreds of thousands of flowers to graves across the country and at Arlington.

"It's a legacy," Penaherrera said. "This is just my way of giving back because my country means so much to me."

Last year, the foundation placed more than 200,000 flowers at headstones in Arlington, and more than 400,000 at veteran gravesites nationwide.
