Meet Thor and Loki, arguably Coast Guard Station Marquette's cutest crew members.

The two-year old Vizsla-Labs were recently adopted after the Marquette crew decided to find a "station dog" for staff morale,  according to Mlive.com.

While the crew originally planned on adopting one dog, they soon discovered that Thor and Loki are an inseparable team.

"There was no way we were ever going to separate them," Petty Officer Terry Bailey told Mlive. "They are the sweetest dogs there are."

UPAWS a non-profit pet rescue and shelter in Michigan's upper peninsula rescued the dogs from a shelter in Missouri two days before they were scheduled to be euthanized, Bailey said.

"They've just bonded instantly to the family that we have created here," Bailey said. "They bring joy to us and we do everything possible to give them the joy they deserve."

The station's crew pools their own money to pay the dogs' care. And while they are not trained search and rescue dogs, they put on costumes to star in a regular feature called "Safety Tip Tuesday" on the station's Facebook page, where they share seasonal boating safety lessons.

"The community here in Marquette has grown extremely close with them," Bailey told Mlive. "[At public events] we've had people come up to tell us they're only here for Thor and Loki. Which is perfectly OK."
