PHOTOS: Survey says Tampa is the place for vets to be

Tampa, Florida is the best city in the country for veterans to live in.
That’s according to personal-finance website WallettHub, which released its report on 2019’s Best & Worse Places for Veterans to Live on Monday.
WalletHub CEO Odysseas Papadimitriou said in an ideal world, every city would roll out the red carpet for veterans.
“That’s not the case, however, and it ultimately comes down to prioritization and funding,” he said. “Some areas simply focus on veterans affairs more than others, and some have the means to make an impact, while others don’t.”
The report compared the 100 largest American cities using 20 factors, including their share of military skill-related jobs, housing affordability and the availability of VA health facilities.
“Nationally, there is a dysfunctional relationship between the amount we spend going to war or preparing to do so and the amount we invest in recuperating,” said Papadimitriou. “That needs to change. The first step: There should be no homeless veterans in the U.S. That is a national disgrace.”
WalletHub also released its selection of 2019’s best military credit cards and the result of its military money survey. The survey found that almost 200 million Americans agree that military families experience more financial stress than non-military families.
